What we do

Family centres help families with all aspects of family life. Your local family centre will support you with parenting and relationship challenges and will help you to grow in confidence so you can manage any future difficulties. The aim of the family centre is to help families build their own resilience and support network.

Our Family Support Team work across the Tandridge District, providing support to families with children aged 0-11 years old.

Our team is here to support and guide you to get the best out of family life. We want to work in partnership with you to help each member of your family to reach their full potential.

We offer a variety of courses providing support with all aspects of family life as well as sessions for families with children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Groups and courses

The Family Centre offers parenting programmes and group sessions about common issues, for example, strategies to help with family routines or keeping your children safe. It is a place for parents and carers to develop their own skills and meet other like-minded people. Our groups and classes range from a few hours to regular weekly sessions, and you can choose which ones are best for you.

Managing emotions for children
Freedom Programme for domestic abuse

The Family Centre works closely with partners to provide the following services:

Developmental checks – booked directly through your health visitor
Drop-in Healthy Child clinics –advice and guidance from health visitors

Groups and courses are free to you and your family if you live in Tandridge. We aim to create a warm, welcoming and safe space for you at our centre where we hope you will feel comfortable to spend time and ask questions to help you enjoy a more positive family life.
